Our dementia support groups meet once a week for two hours, offering a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for both individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. These groups are here to provide ongoing support—you can be with us for as long as you wish.
There is a charge of £2 per person each session.
Caregivers are warmly invited to stay and join in, but they’re equally free to step out and use the time for themselves if that’s what they prefer. To make sure everyone has a place, we ask new members to book in advance for their first session. After that, you’ll automatically remain on our weekly list until you decide to stop attending.
Each week, our groups enjoy a mix of activities designed to encourage connection, stimulate memory, and bring joy. Members may take part in gentle sports or armchair exercises, get creative with arts and crafts, try their hand at mocktail making, or enjoy other engaging activities.
Refreshments are always provided, giving everyone a chance to relax and chat in a friendly atmosphere.
At the heart of our groups is the sense of community: a place where members can share experiences, build friendships, and feel truly supported.
To finish each session, we always come together for a singalong and a lively game of bingo—with prizes to be won and smiles guaranteed.
We run every Monday at Drighlington Methodist Church. Please contact me before coming along so I can assure there are spaces available.
